Rizal Park Tour

Hi there! June is already here time flies by so fast.

It is time for a new post :D.

Rizal Monument
I went to Rizal Park also known as Luneta National Park last May 13, 2017. This park is named after the National Hero of the Philippines, Doctor Joze Rizal. It has been a while since I visited this place. The last time I visited here was around 2002. Rizal Park was originally a marshy patch of land. A small town once stood here called Bagumbayan (Nuevo Barrio Spanish) which dates back to 1601.

Churches in Metro Manila

Hi there! Time flies so fast it is the last day of April already. Last Saturday (April 22, 2017), I decided to visit churches around Manila. There are many churches around Manila area but in order to visit many of them I decided to visit the ones that are near my home. So hop in with me in my bike and let's explore churches around Metro Manila one pedal at a time. :)

First stop is University of Santo Tomas parish also called Santisimo Rosario Parish. This parish was built during the turbulent months at the dawn of the second world war and is currently run by Dominican priests. I really like this church because it is close to my home and I usually go here every Sunday.

Intramuros Adventure Part 2

Hi there!

Yesterday, April 1, 2017,  I went out biking again towards Intramuros. This time I was more confident of my biking skills because I was able to get a feel of the road last Saturday. I went out early again using the route I used before to avoid traffic and I want to ride while the sun is still not high up in the sky.

This time I went to a really nice place inside the Intramuros wall which is Fort Santiago

Fort Santiago is really rich in history because this is the place where our national hero, Jose Rizal was imprisoned prior to his execution.

Finding the place is not so hard because there are road signs leading to Fort Santiago.

My first biking adventure

So yesterday I made my first trip using my bike. I planned to visit areas that are near to familiarize myself with biking. It was kind of scary at first because I will have to share the road with other vehicles so I planned the safest routes that I will take in order to get to my destination. So around 9 am in the morning I took my first pedal to adventure.

My first stop, the walled city of Intramuros. Intramuros is one of the oldest district here in Manila Philippines and has a rich history. It was built during the time when Philippines was under Spanish rule. There are many entrances to Intramuros and here is what one of the entrances looks like:
